Happy Birthday!

My son Husain is 5 years old, Mashahallah. I make sure that birthdays at our home are a big and a special event, with friends and family. To give it a touch of love, I always bake cakes myself and Husain loves to help, and he stays in the kitchen till the end. Last year on my own birthday I couldn’t manage to bake a cake, so Husain said, “Mumma it’s your birthday today, we should have a cake.” I replied saying “Ok Husain! I will try to bake one”. He replied, “No mumma! You cannot bake a cake because it is your birthday. The Birthday girl can’t bake a cake herself”, to which I said with a big smile on my face “Then who will bake the cake baby?” After thinking for a while he replied with excitement, “We will ask papa this time to bake a cake! I will help him, I know mumma how to bake”. That was the most happiest and funniest moment for us; happy because Husain thought so much about it and funny because papa doesn’t know anything about baking!!! :)

Celebrate Your Pride & Joy

Hi Mom,

We’ve been sitting in our kitchen, thinking of ways to thank you for being wonderful to your family. Yes, we know what you’ve been doing. We’ve seen you and mothers like you, carefully picking ingredients for family meals in the grocery. Happily spending more time in the kitchen to make sure that everything is cut, mixed and flavored just right. We know that if you could, you would always give the very best – thoughtfully making their most favorite dishes in times of celebration or gloomy days. And always – a warm, comforting meal to come home to every night.

That’s when we realized that the best way to thank you is to help you celebrate your one true pride and joy – in the best way possible. Tell us the story about him or her and we’ll do everything we can to help you create a reunion to remember!
